Tips on how to earn money with a home business

Everyone wants tips on how to earn money with a home based business. It never seems to amaze me that a lot of people with a work at home business are not earning some money.

When I got to question a few of these people about why they are not earning any money, I found out why!

People, you have to do something to earn something! Just because you have joined a MLM or affiliate program, don’t think just by sitting back you will earn some money. NOT TRUE!!!

So I have tried to make it easy on these people by coming up with the necessary things you need to do to earn money from home.

If you honestly do these things, and still don’t make any money then maybe a home business is not for you. But you need to be honest about this and put out the effort.

1. When you first start with a work at home business, set out at least an hour a day devoted to your business.

2. Spend the first day advertising your business on the free classified websites, there are literally thousands of these sites to advertise on.

3. If you have a website for your business, then spend day 2 submitting your website to all of the search engines, Yahoo, MSN, Google, AOL, etc.

4. Day 3 start submitting to ezines, this is a very good way to promote your business.

5. Day 4 start by writing an article to use in the yahoo groups. And with this article your can promote your website at the end of the article.

6. Day 5 submit your business to the various business message boards, there are lots out there that let you post an ad for your home business.

7. Day 6 you will want to start advancing up and checking for “Leads” that are interested in starting a home business. When you find a good source you will want to start emailing them. To do this you will want a good auto responder to handle the high volume of emails.

8. Day 7 you will want to start this process all over again.

You can do these steps in any order, but remember persistence is the key. Spend an hour a day for the first 30 days on these 7 items. Each day promote your business in a different way.

Within 30 days you will start to see the rewards of your work that you only spent 7-10 hours a week on!

Further more don’t expect to get rich overnight. The businesses offering “pie in the sky” so to speak do yourself a favor and stay away from those type of offers.

Do yourself a favor when you get involved with a work at home business. You owe it to yourself to give it an honest try. Nothing will happen, if you don’t do anything.

10 Work at Home Niches You Can Use Today

One of the biggest obstacles to getting started working at home, or expanding your current home based business, is finding a profitable niche to target. Well, I have done a significant portion of the hard work for you in this article.

Below are ten niche ideas to help you start your work at home based business today.

1) Having a Collection - Many people collect things. Your work at home business could target product niches such as trading cards, coins, nick-knacks, dolls, plates, old books, glassware, comic books, stamps, or anything else you can think of that people tend to collect.

2) Attracting Men/Women - Most people want to be attractive to the opposite sex, or even the same sex in many cases. You could target product niches like flirting tips, makeovers, attractive clothing styles, perfumes, colognes, etc...

3) Saving Memories - Pretty much everyone likes to retain memories of special occasions, parties, vacations, and anything else worth looking back on. They want to maintain them and have them to show to their families and friends. Your website could target work at home niches like cameras, camcorders, photo albums, diaries, journals, etc...

4) Being a Good Parent - Most people who are parents want to be good ones. Your home based business could target product niches like parenting guides, parenting classes, anger management, stress management, or anything else associated with good parenting.

5) Saving Time - We could all use more time in our days. Your work at home based business could help people save time by promoting products like daily planners and calendars. Or you could take it further and offer instant benefit products such as laundry service, meal planning and delivery, etc...

6) Living a Long Life - Most people want to live as long as possible. You could target product niches about anti-aging medications, medical exams, fitness products, safe sex contraceptives, nutrition products, supplements, etc..

7) Being Full of Energy - Energy is something we all lack at one time or another. Energy drinks are a hot item right now. It seems a new one comes out about every week and people buy them like crazy. Your home based business could target them or other energy products like caffeine, energy inducing diet plans, sleep theory, etc...

8) Being in Fashion - Most people want to be trendy and in fashion, especially the younger generation. Your home business website could target niches about fashion information, clothing products, clothing accessories, celebrity trends, etc... aimed at people under 40. Or you could separate the niche and target all age ranges.

9) Be Intelligent/Smart - Many people prefer to be recognized as being intelligent or smart. Your home based business could target niches like increasing grade point averages, continuing education, raising IQ, increasing mind power, vocabulary, speed reading, etc...

10) Being in/Finding Love - Most people want to be in love or loved. They also seek to avoid those things that harm it. Such as getting a divorce, breaking up, etc... You could work at home while making people happier by targeting niches like relationship counseling, dating services, single bars, and other "love" products.

There you have it... ten niches you can use right now to start working at home or expand your current home based business with. Break them up, mix and match them, use them to generate other ideas, or do anything else you want with them. Just get going on making your work at home dreams come to life today.

3 Simple Tips For Making Money Online Even If You Don’t Have Anything To Sell!

Have an idea about making money online but don’t know where to start?

There are several ways to make money on the Internet – even if you don’t have a product to sell. Keep in mind that running an online business takes time and effort, just like running any business. However, you can get started without any products, which is one less roadblock for most people wanting to start a business.

You don’t need to be a computer expert to run an online business, but you do need to either be able to set up a website, or have the resources to pay someone else to do it for you.

Here are 3 simple ways to make money online even if you don’t have your own product:

Affiliate programs
Being an affiliate means you are selling other people’s products, and you get a percentage of the sale, or you make a small fee for each person who requests more information. Most major retailers offer affiliate programs, along with many smaller retailers (with lots of good products and services). It’s not a good idea to try to compete with an established retailer like Wal-Mart, Target, or Circuit City. A better way to make money is to find a “niche” that serves a smaller group of people, that you can easily reach.

For example, rather than selling sporting goods to everyone, you might start a fishing site that sells canoes and fishing products to people who like fresh water fishing. You can also find smaller retailers who may offer more specialized products to those who know a lot about fishing, while selling the basics from Wal-Mart to beginners.

A good place to start is Commission Junction (http://www.CJ.com), and you’ll get an idea of the products you can offer. Be creative in finding your niche, start with something you know a little about, or enjoy doing, and before long you can be making money online!

Adsense from Google
Adsense is an advertising program from search engine Google.com (there are other advertising programs you can offer, but for now Google’s is the biggest and most popular). By placing ads on your site, you earn money for each person who clicks on the ad. Google will automatically determine which ads are best for your site, based on the topic of each web page. All you have to do is place the code on your web page, and Google does the rest.

You can also sell individual ads, and determine your own terms and price. But using a program like Google is simple, and if your set gets a lot of visitors, you can make good money. Again, the best way to succeed is to find a niche, create a website around that topic, and Google will be able to determine the best ads for your visitors.

Write a “How-To” booklet
If you don’t want to sell other people’s products, but don’t have a lot of money to create your own, a simple way to get started is to write your own “how-to” booklet. Pick a topic you know enough to write about, and start writing. Information products are always good sellers – the key is to solve a particular problem. “How to catch fresh water fish” or “How to plan a fishing vacation on a tight budget” are possibilities for the fishing niche mentioned above.

To learn more, do a search for “creating information products” or “writing e-books”, and you will find lots of resources. Once you create your product, Clickbank.com offers a simple service to help you sell your information product, and there are others to help you get started.

Again, be creative, there are lots of problems out there that people need help with. And offering a good solution can make you lots of money!

Making money online takes more than just building a website. You need to pick the right products or services. Then you need to find the right audience to sell those products and services. Then you need to promote your website to enough people so you can make money. For now, you should have enough ideas to get you started – even if you don’t have a product to sell yet!

Home business opportunity tips

1. Be wary of promises of big profits for little effort. A home-based business is like any other requiring dedication, skill, good products or services and a bit of patience.

2. Make sure there really is a market for the work you're offered. Don’t take at face value all the sales material you are given for the particular opportunity..

3. Get all the details before parting with your money. A company worth its salt will be more than happy to supply them. In addition, other people affiliated with the company will be able to supply references, but make sure they’re offering independent, unbiased advice.

4. Beware of unsolicited emails or offers to send you an advance on your “pay”. A lot of fraudsters use this tactic to build trust. They ask you for some of the money they paid you to be returned saying that what they gave you was the wrong amount. When you refund the money, they dash with your cash. A few days later, the cheque (usually a passable fake) bounces, leaving you owing the bank the amount you withdrew and your “employer” nowhere to be found.

5. Make sure the company you're dealing with intends to hire you directly rather than giving you some basic training materials to use on clients you find yourself

Become Rich Stuffing Envelopes!!

I am sure i am not the only person who has seen an ad like the title above, probably you have seen dozens, if not millions of them. The offer really does sound tempting doesn't it? I mean who wouldn't want to wake up at 10am and work in their pj's with the TV on and making piles of cash from just stuffing envelopes? As the adage goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

So how does it work?
You come across an ad that claims that "Vicky" makes $400 every week without ever having to leave her house. The work is described as fun, easy and doesn’t require any experience.

You then have a blonde moment and order the starter pack. If it arrives, the bad news suddenly becomes obvious. You're not actually going to be paid for every envelope you fill. Rather, you’re expected to spread the news about the fabulous opportunity that is the envelope stuffing business.

The saga continues.....You achieve this by placing your own ad or creating a flyer, advertising for people to contact you. You then sell your knowledge of making money through stuffing envelopes for a price. And then you collect it, enquiry by enquiry. This is also known as the “revolving door”, since the advertisement is the product and each is equally worthless.

Part twoThe starter pack includes the details of a mailing list you can buy so you too can send out their "sales letters" professing Vicky’s miraculous windfall. This list is worthless, with the response rates being well below 1%. Either way, you're not going to be earning thousands of rands per month by putting brochures of legitimate businesses into envelopes.

Stuffing envelopes
The truth is that for bulk mailings, stuffing envelopes by hand is a thing of the past. Mailing houses have machinery that can fold, insert and seal 5,000 envelopes in an hour. And when items do exist that require work to be done by hand, this is usually achieved in-house at minimum wage.

Questions you should ask
If you're tempted by a "work-from-home opportunity", ask the following questions to determine if the employment opportunity is legitimate:

  • What do I get for my initial fees?
  • When will I get my first payment?
  • Is there a salary involved or is the work commission-based?
  • What is the total cost of the programme – supplies, such as envelopes, membership fees and equipment?
  • What will I have to do?

If given any answers that give you even a niggling feeling of doubt, trust your instincts.

Owning a direct mail company is really the only way to make money from filling and posting envelopes. But this is an exception to the rule.

Have you ever met a wealthy envelope-stuffer?

No? Me neither.
